Producers & Consumers
Every working ecosystem needs a solid food chain. Food chains are comprised of two types of organisms: producers and consumers. Producers are primarily plants, fungi, and any other autotrophs that serves as a food source to other organisms. Consumers are comprised of a large variety of organisms that are classified into five different groups. Some consumers feed off of producers, while others feed off of other consumers. Below, you will find the various producers and consumers that live in the Tongass National Forest.
